Mission: Midwest Waterproofing, LLC strives to build an experienced, well-educated team that is determined to provide customers with the most cost-effective, innovative and comprehensive solutions to their waterproofing and foundation repair problems.
Logo midwest waterproofingMidwest Waterproofing LLC is a family-owned and operated foundation repair and waterproofing company that services the Northern Illinois, Southern Wisconsin and Northwestern Indiana areas. Our staff has over 30 years in the construction industry dealing with commercial and residential structures alike. With that wealth of knowledge, there is no problem that we cannot solve. Our goal is to educate our customers about the problem, give them multiple solutions and help them make an educated decision on the solution right for their situation.
Many companies sell a one-size-fits-all solution, others try to sell every part, piece, and the process they offer. Midwest Waterproofing is looking to solve our customers’ problems permanently, as cost-effectively as possible as well as offering preventative measures that help to eliminate the need for our services in the future. On occasion, we may even determine that our customer does not need us at all, but rather another trade or repair entirely. Hopefully, this honesty helps gain a customer for life by building trust in doing the right thing for them.
- Waterproofing
Basement waterproofing can come in many different shapes and sizes but the goal is to turn a wet basement into a dry and usable space. While some companies sell one size fits all solutions, we feel that such a thing does not exist.
Midwest Waterproofing operates under the idea that the problems, or symptoms of a problem, dictate the solution. Do you have a finished basement or a complex commercial building? We will spend the time to truly diagnose the situation and offer the best solution for that particular situation.
- Foundation Repair
Foundation walls, despite being made of very strong materials like poured concrete, concrete block, or stone, can be compromised to the point where the structural integrity of the foundation is at risk. This damage can come in many forms: a foundation wall that is leaning in at the top, bowing in the middle, or a wall with a lot of cracks that are significant in size.
Other companies might propose just repairing the cracks or you might be tempted to do it yourself. Because the discussion of a foundation that has structural damage can be a difficult one, it is important that you trust the company you hire.
- Yard Drainage and Your Basement
Overflowing gutters, downspouts that dump water next to the foundation, back pitched grading and low spots in the yard can cause stormwater to enter your basement or crawlspace. In extreme circumstances, this excess water can also cause severe structural damage to your home’s foundation.
Foundations in the Chicagoland and Southern Wisconsin areas are installed to a minimum depth of forty-two inches for slab on grade and crawlspaces for protection from frost heaving; for basements, they can be installed to a depth of eight feet or more. In order to install foundations this deep, a hole is dug approximately 3-5 feet wider than the footprint of the foundation. This extra excavation is called the over-dig and gives the foundation crews the room to build the foundation footings and walls.
