Helical Piers
Helical Piers are shaped like giant screws. With the use of a hydraulic system, they are gradually screwed into the earth below the house until the helical piers reach either bedrock or hard, compressed, load-bearing soil. Then special brackets and tools transfer the weight of the house off of the fill dirt and onto the newly installed helical piers. Hydraulic jacks attach to the helical piers and are used to raise the foundation back to its original elevation.
Push Piers
Push Piers use the building as a counterweight and are driven into the earth under the house until they hit either bedrock or hard, compressed, load-bearing soil. Hydraulic jacks attach to the embedded steel piers and are used to raise the foundation back to its original elevation.

Mudjacking
The type of slab The Mudjackers raises is referred to as “floating concrete” meaning the concrete moves with the ground. The ground can move as a result of frost and thawing or the amount of moisture present in the soil at different times of the year. Therefore, it is necessary to use a material that is able to take on or release moisture at the same rate as the surrounding soil to float the concrete properly.
Common problems caused by sinking concrete
- Settled driveways
- Sidewalk trip hazards
- Steep slippery slopes on porches and stoops
- Back pitched concrete next to houses
- Tilting garage floors
- Settled pool decks
Foundation Wall Cracks
When ground water saturation occurs in the freeze-thaw periods of winter, the ground expands, creating tremendous pressure on below-ground portions of the foundation walls. This stress eventually fractures the wall. According to the Home Inspection Census, more than 50% of all basement foundation walls have a good chance of cracking or bowing in the winters to come!
Basement Waterproofing
Every basement is different. Your foundation may be fieldstone, concrete block, or cement. Whatever the case, at some point, it will be penetrated by water or moisture and the end result is always the same – a damp, wet, or flooded basement.
Basement Waterproofing Solutions
- Foundation Crack Repair
Prior to waterproofing, the wall is excavated to the footing and old drain tile is removed. Any cracks in the foundation walls will be repaired and recoated with masonry cement.
- Exterior Waterproofing
The wall will be coated with Marflex 5000, a heavy-duty elastomeric emulsion waterproofing membrane, to seal the wall providing industry-leading technology at an affordable price. Resistant to freeze-thaw cycles while remaining flexible
- Interior Drain Tile System
The most effective waterproofing systems are installed on the inside of the home. Interior drainage systems are installed using a central ejection device to get the water from the basement to the outside of the home.
