From humble beginnings in the summer of 1982, Rusty Johnson, at the age of sixteen, started gleaning his years of construction knowledge as he worked his summer breaks with a long-established construction company. This continued throughout college as he obtained his B.S. degree in Education from Kent State University as well as his M.Ed. In 1997 Rusty started LOREN Construction Inc. contracting work throughout his summer breaks as a one-man waterproofing operation from start to finish providing detailed workmanship. Twenty years later at the closure of the 2016 summer, Rusty started looking for a talented individual who shared his commitment to honesty, craftsmanship, and expertise in the field. He found that partner in his brother, Jay D. Johnson, who is a 1994 graduate of the Pennsylvania State University with degrees in architecture and architectural engineering. Jay is uniquely talented as he applies his architectural/engineering background and twenty-plus years of construction site management in the fields of excavation, foundations, and concrete work. Why now? As co-owners, Rusty and Jay together bring over fifty years of experience and wisdom to J.D. Johnson Waterproofing, Inc.
